My Approach
My theoretical orientation is based in Psychodynamic Theory and Relational Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Theory, and Internal Family Systems. I believe the healing process thrives in knowing oneself through insight, creating meaning around our lived experiences, repairing emotional wounds, and attuning to our whole selves. This creates the ability for us to make the changes that make to most sense in our lives.
Frequently, I incorporate therapeutic interventions from other therapeutic models, based on individual needs. These include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Somatic practices, Polyvagal Theory, Strength-Based Therapy, Trauma-focused and Trauma-Informed whole-person care, Parts work (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT).
